Mango Tree School

Location: Uvira, DR Congo

Mango Tree School (MTS) is a private primary school located in eastern DR Congo. A beautiful set of brick buildings composed of six classrooms and an administrative office bloc, Mango Tree School provides quality education to over 200 students from impoverished and challenging backgrounds. Emphasizing a high standard, MTS focuses on strong academic performance, character-building, hygiene and teaches students both English and French. Every faculty member is qualified and has formal training in education in addition to other trainings and development. MTS is educating and giving hope to its students and their families for a better, brighter future. Through your support, we have committed to and distributed scholarships for over 2500 months of school.

Mango Tree School was built next to a large mango tree on the property. As the founder and chair of the board, Jeremiah Rukukuye, shared about the founding of the school, "The shade of the mango tree provides refreshing and a cool breeze to whoever sits underneath it. The tree still produces fruit each year." The school follows in those footsteps and provides education and refreshing to its students.
