Artists' Lofts Open Studio
6.27 An opportunity for the public to explore artists’ work spaces, meet a variety of artists and arts professionals with a range of backgrounds and disciplines, and see and purchase some of their most recent works fresh from the site of creation. There will be opportunities to shop artists' works and participate in a variety of demos, screenings, workshops, etc. taking place during the open studios.
6.23-6.24 InterAction is the largest alliance of U.S.-based international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) focused on serving the world’s poor and most vulnerable populations. InterAction’s annual conference included an Artisan Trade Fair to expose Forum participants to crafts representative of the communities served by InterAction members and to provide a space for fair-trade merchants and indigenous artisans from around the globe to sell their crafts.
6.2 - 6.9 Online pop up with Bezar Marketplace, where people who design special things connect with people who desire special things. Bezar will enable emerging designers to reach design lovers, iconic brands to engage with new audiences in meaningful ways, and shoppers to access authentic pieces from new talent. Kicheko is debuting our Solstice necklace on Bezar and for 7 days, customers can enjoy exclusive discounts on our pieces
5.29 - 5.31 A roving marketplace for carefully selected American-made products and brands. Established in 2010 in Minneapolis, 18 Northern Grade events have been held around the country. Many of the brands that attend Northern Grade are well known and established; others are newer brands on the rise.
Brights & Bites
5.16 In the spirit of fresh weekends and vibrant communities, local jewelry brands, Kicheko & Hanuel hosted Brights & Bites, a fun pop up event featuring mimosa/coffee bar, sweet and savory bites, live music, yoga and shopping. It was a beautiful day at the studio and we were thrilled to meet so many of DC's bloggers, creatives and stylists!
Catalyst West Coast
Catalyst is a conference that convenes thought leaders, businesspeople, artists and faith influencers from all over the world. On Apr 16--17, Kicheko had the privilege to partner with Catalyst and provide speakers and special guests our new Hope & Edu Necklace, a gorgeous layering piece that shares about our aesthetic and mission. Kicheko + Redeeming Grounds Open Studio
3.14 Jewels and joe make for a splendid combination if we may say so ourselves. Customers shopped Kicheko and enjoyed sales on certain items as we are clearing out our inventory for spring looks. Redeeming Grounds hosted coffee cuppings and made their delicious brews available for sale.
Live Music at Ebenezers
2.12 A great evening of music featuring local singer-songwriters such as Micah Music, Josh Waters and the talented Amanda Lee & Posido Vega. Gathering for a chill evening at Ebenezers Coffeehouse (one block from Union Station), we popped up with some of our favorite pieces just in time for Valentine's Day gifts. Click here for details.
1.22 - 1.23 Catalyst is a conference that convenes thought leaders, businesspeople, artists and faith influencers from all over the world. On Jan 22-23, Kicheko had the privilege of providing our classic Gilded Equilaterals to speakers, group leaders and Catalyst staff. We loved seeing the folks @catalystleader style & share their Kicheko.
Miss Pixie's Customer Appreciation Bazaar
12.5 Let the Christmas markets commence! Such a fun way to kick off the holiday market season. To show their appreciation to their customers and the community, Miss Pixie's hosted a customer event with bubbly, catered foods and a smorgasbord of local makers and small businesses.

Sound of Smile Tour w/ Tiffany Thompson Music
10.11 - 10.19 The Sound of Smile Tour is a 1300+ mile tour combining music and goods for good. Brought to you by musical artist, Tiffany Thompson, and Sarah Bayot of Kicheko Goods, we will be hitting the road visiting Chicago, Algoma, Valparaiso, Nashville, Atlanta, Durham and DC. 10.4 A fantastic fall day, Kicheko popped up at the lovely and monthly DC Meet Market. Painted pumpkins, DJs and bands, and a sweet selection of food and craft vendors; the market was vibrant! Thank you to all who came out! We loved seeing you!

9.6 Kicheko returned to DC Meet Market for a back to school themed market day. After taking August off to design, source and prep for the fall/winter season, it was great to get back in the swing of market weekends and meet new customers.

7.5 Kicheko returned to DC Meet Market for a cookout themed market day in celebration of the Fourth of July. It was a vibrant market day with the smells of Korean BBQ in the air, the musical stylings of DJ Natty Boom, Lady Hatchet and the Merry Toddlers More.
Tiffany Thompson Music Full Band Show
6.27 A beautiful night of music and fashion. Tiffany's energy on stage was unrivaled and there was a special atmosphere in the crowd of many old and new faces who came out to see her sendoff show. Tiffany debuted a few new tracks and Kicheko and Dear Boutique partnered together on a pop up shop offering jewelry and vintage/consigned clothing.
6.22 Featuring 100 vendors who offer art, crafts, antiques, collectibles, and imports from around the world, this market has served as an incubator of many small businesses. Kicheko rolled out new summer product for this market and we enjoyed meeting many new customers and sharing Kicheko with so many.
DC Meet Market
6.7 Kicheko Goods returned to DC Meet Market on a hot Saturday. Coinciding with the festivities of DC's Pride Parade, it was a rambunctious Saturday as vendors set up their tents and the parade kicked off. Partnering with Bekah Kitterman, the maker and witty designer of If & When Workshop, we offered quirky home goods and unique jewelry designs for customers.
5.10 The Flea Market features arts, crafts, antiques, collectibles, and imports from around the world and has served as an incubator of many small businesses.
The Flea Market takes place 10 AM to 5 PM every Sunday, year round. It operates inside the Hine School yard at 7th & C Streets SE on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Such a proud moment to have a booth in this DC landmark!

5.11 We were thrilled to sit down with the owner and curator behind Kaleidos, a new online shop of beautiful vintage and independent designs. Kaleidos and Kicheko collaborated on a special nautical-inspired piece, 'Nanga," which translates to "anchor." Made of textured cord and rope and drawn together by gold-plate magnetic closures, the Nanga roots and amplifies. We love sharing our story and heart behind our pieces. Read the blog here.

During a photoshoot with local jewelry fashion brand, Hanuel Official, we accessorized the talented and beautiful Yetunde Sarumi in our Tri Woods and Parlay Cords to complement her latest design. Blogger, entrepreneur, and designer - we love her style and what she's all about.

1.24 Doreen Gentzler interviewed businesswoman, Radell Peischler on her recent decision to undergo vitrification, a process that freezes a woman's eggs in order to save them for a later point. Our black and gold tipped deer tine pendant is featured in the interview. Radell bravely shares about her unique experience - the process and emotions and on her blog.
12.1 December's Bittersweet Monthly's Good Gift Guide is hot off the press! Dedicated to sharing stories of inspiring and significant work, the lovely team at Bittersweet put together a helpful gift guide to assist holiday gift lists. Kicheko is honored to be highlighted and to participate in the Good Gift Gala.
Kicheko Goes to the Whitehouse
10.18 For the first Celebration of Fashion hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House, Kicheko was thrilled to accessorize guest and local actress, Amanda Duchemin. She chose the Gold Druzy Quartz Geodes and the Brushed Brass Crystal Quartz pendant necklace. The fashion elite came out in stylish droves for this event honoring the contributions the fashion industry has made to our economy and culture. DVF, Anna Wintour, Edward Enninful, and Vera Wang were among those in attendance.
4.7 Excerpt from blog post: "Spring has finally arrived in DC and I was determined to enjoy the beautiful weather on Saturday morning. My plans for the day included a visit to the DC Meet Market in Logan Circle...I truly enjoyed learning about Kicheko and the woman behind it, Sarah Bayot. She started making earrings a couple of years ago and now her line has expanded to include men’s cufflinks and scarves. Most importantly, 30 percent of the proceeds from each purchase goes to support organizations that provide care and education to children in the DR of Congo."

Bittersweet Good Gift Guide
12.17 Bittersweet released its first ever good gift guide to help folks shop for the perfect gifts for their Christmas/holiday lists. Featuring a ton of vendors that specialize in beautiful and well-crafted products, Kicheko was thrilled to take part in the guide and have our goods gifted to loved ones.
Capital Funk Showcase Vendor Fair
4.19 Kicheko Goods was proud to participate for the second time at the Capital Funk Showcase Vendor Fair. A prelude to the evening showcase, which is an annual hip hop showcase featuring local talent and hip hop styles, Kicheko Goods set up shop at Kogan Plaza on a bright spring day. This year marked the 10 year anniversary of Capital Funk, a local hip hop dance team based out of The George Washington University.
Kicheko's First Outdoor Market Day!
4.5 On a bright and breezy Saturday, Kicheko set up its first outdoor market tent at DC Meet Market, located on 15th & P St NW. Joining 40+ vendors, artists, bands, and food trucks, we had a great time sharing the experience with friends and meeting new customers and supporters. Kicheko sold a variety of button earrings, the product that started it all and we also debuted a small batch of necklaces and gold-plated dangling earrings. Showcasing the various influences that inspire Kicheko's aesthetic, we were thrilled to share the product and story with so many. More markets to come!
Aoneeight Imports Market
12.11 Kicheko partnered with aoneeight imports, a brand that works with organizations who provide gainful employment and teach life skills to women in difficult circumstances. Earrings, bracelets, and necklaces made out of melted down bullet casings were a few of the items on display. It was great to collaborate and share new products.
Bittersweet Benefit @ 52 O Studios NW
12.17 What better way to celebrate a new release than with a party! To mark the first ever Bittersweet Good Gift Guide and to provide a space for folks to purchase local goods from a few of the featured vendors, Bittersweet hosted a bash at its ambient and gorgeous studio. 8.19 Kicking off our summer music fashion tour, singer-songwriter, Tiffany Thompson, and I packed our bags and drove 1,800 miles sharing music, Kicheko's summer earring line, and a lot of laughs plus Instagrams along the way. From Chattanooga to Florence to Atlanta, and Nashville - it was great fun to get on the open road and bring music and social enterprise together. May Mother's Day Gift at National Community Church
5.13 On Mother's Day, NCC gives a gift to all the moms and expecting moms across its locations in the District and in northern Virginia. It was an honor to make 500 pairs of earrings - our largest order yet! We hoped the earrings were conversation starters for the moms and their kids. Thank you NCC for the opportunity to be a part of moms' special day.

3.3 My dear friend and musician, Tiffany Thompson, pulled together an amazing crew for her music video "In the Distance." Shot in a historic theatre in Eastern Market and the travel hub, Union Station, Tiffany's looks pulled together contemporary styles, vintage objects and an assortment of Kicheko's earrings, some of them exclusive to Tiffany's product line. The video looks amazing and I'm so happy that Kicheko could be a part of the ensembles. This song will get your foot tapping!
