Photo Essay: Cherry Blossoms

Springtime in DC revealed a gorgeous Saturday morning where the sun began a steady toast of the latent morning chill. Cooped up for too long in brick & mortar and wintry wooly layers, I could not imagine a more perfect morning to greet the annual bloom of the cherry blossoms. The blossoms line the Tidal Basin where the Jefferson, FDR, and MLK memorials reside, circling the water. Frolicking amongst the Yoshino, Kwanzan, and Japanese weeping cherry trees; the tulip magnolias; and patches of forsythia - I feel my best self when I am wandering and wondering. Dance, skip, twirl, lay, bask. However, you frolic, I say frolic boldly and colorfully.
